Last Sunday Skirmish

As usually, last Sunday I and my friends from airsoft club got together in the field. This new field actually has just utilized by our airsoft club currently. Located in plantation, so there were so many trees, make more realistic and challenge like in the forest. But this plantation has been swept from any snakes or another animals, so dont worry...it make us more secure and safety to play airsoft. In this field have been built some protecting shields, bunkers, and towers as defence point or attack point. It also has supported by toilet facility and small canteen, so ehmm.....it very nice to play here... the environment and the atmosphere like in the jungle, but the facility also complete.
About 2 pm, after many of airsoft members have came together in the field and chatted for a while, so we have been ready to play airsoft. But..huff..just few members came to field..only 10 people.. maybe because the rain was falling from the morning..so made some members felt reluctant to come. But it didn't matter, we still could play airsoft together..so the members divided into 2 teams to play skirmish.Team 1 came to area firstly to gave them some moments to prepare points of strategy, then team 2 came to area. I played in 2nd team. 1, 2,3...go..go..go...all teams got ready into action..then line of fire started from each AEG. I got in middle position to support 2 friends of my team in front of me who started to attack by entering opponent's zone. About 5 to 10 minutes my AEG still worked well, but then..oh no...something problem was happened. There were just 1 or 2 BB came out from my AEG each I pulled the trigger, even I have adjusted to automatic shoot. Sometimes the BB can be shooted in long distance, but sometimes it just fell 1 meter in front of me. Hemm... my AEG became impotant. I have tried to adjust anything, but still no progress. Then I shouted "HIT"...to inform the others that I went out from battle zone, because I thought nothing to do with my AEG.
I have really miss play airsoft, because I haven't played for some weeks. But then my AEG got a problem. I should to disassembly the gearbox of my AEG to check the problem.

U.S.ARMY RANGERS

Do you like war movies ? We often watch some movies with Rangers theme, and maybe some of those become our favorites (such Saving Private Ryan--> this is my favourite movie, etc), because Rangers have good reputation for persistency in dangerous situation and dedication for pure American values. In those movies, Rangers were defined:

  • Have strength, intelligence, and full of spirit for doing something, no matter how difficult the situation.

  • Have full dedication to accomplish the duty. No hesitant in focus to achieve target.

U.S. Army Rangers are an elite American Special Operations Force that qualified to plan and run some specials direct military operations. Ways of thinking and confidence of Rangers were developed in organizational culture that charge for discipline and high standard in advanced readiness condition to be available for immediate worldwide deployment

The term of Rangers was emerged in 13th century England. Then in 17th and 18th century in North America, Ranger got in wars between colonist and Native American Tribes. Rangers were full-time troopers employed by colonial governments to patrol between fixed frontier defenses in scouting to provide initial warning of attacks.

The modern U.S. Army Rangers, the 75th Ranger Regimen, were initially raised for Korean War. In Korean War, a unique Ranger unit was formed.

The headquarter of 75th Ranger Regimen is at Fort Benning, Ga . The 75th Ranger Regiment consist of three battalion, they are :

  • lst Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.

  • 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.

  • 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Ga.

AIR SOFT GUN

What is air soft guns? What the difference between air soft gun and real gun ?
Air Soft Guns are a scale 1:1 replica of real guns which are powered by spring, gas or electric to fire small plastic ball bearing. Most air soft guns are produced as real as the original real firearm. Commonly airsoft gun made in Japan or China can be really like the real one, but for airsoft gun made in USA there is a spesific difference (orange token in gun point). But in my opinion, I prefer the one without the orange token to be more realistic.
Beside the capability of firing, many people also consider the realistic body performance of air soft gun. Metal body and the existence of body marking have become one of realistic point of air soft gun.
There are three types of air soft guns; spring, gas, electric, and all of those work on the same principle of compressed gas expanding to push the bullet down the barrel:

  1. Spring
This type of air soft gun use potential energy stored in spring to push the bullet. This is single shot device, and can not automatic or semi automatic fire. We must to cock a spring gun before pull the trigger. This type of air soft gun usually is cheaper than electric-powered gun. We also can’t use this gun in close combat. But spring-powered guns are usually more reliable against weather.
  2. Gas
This type of air soft gun use pressurized gas to fire the BB. The gun can be automatic or semi automatic. The most common gases used are "green gas" (which consists of a mixture of propane and a polysiloxane lubricant) and HFC-134a
  3. Electric. This type of air soft gun typically uses a rechargeable battery to drive an electric motor, which cycles an internal piston/spring assembly in order to fire BBs.The gun can be automatic or semi automatic.

So, guys...which one you prefer and think better? Some people like spring-powered guns because some reasons, even there are some spring airsoftgun groups. They believe that spring airsoftgun has character which can build maturity of members in airsoft game. Because each person should think carefully before shoot the BB. I myself prefer electric-powered gun for riffle because it is simple and can beautomatic or semi automatic. But for handgun, I prefer gas-powered gun, because the sound more powerfull and I think it make more realistic.

AIR SOFT at a glance (WELCOME)

Hai....Welcome to airsoft mania community..Here I want to explore and sharing about airsoft. You can also comment or sharing about my posting and your experiences or opinion. But, it's better to describe basic knowledge about airsoft. Air Soft is a sport for hobby that the players wear tactical gears (army uniform, vest, or etc) and utilize replica of gun (air soft gun) which shooting small plastic ball bearing to eliminate the opponent team. The team usually divided into 2 teams and they play some mission. Generally the mission / playing style consist of some types:
  • CQB (Close Quarters Battle) is the way of playing air soft where the participants play in small arena and performing fast action combat. Because simulating war zone, in the arena usually there are some protection spots for players that consist of tower, bunker, shelter, stack of tires, or etc. The mission can direct facing both of team, flag battle, Rambo (1 or 2 players against many players), or etc.
  • MilSim or Military Simulation is the way of playing air soft by combining air soft regular style with military role playing. The arena usually is larger than CQB and the mission spend longer time (sometimes it spends several days). The mission in this playing similar with military operation that includes mapping, patrol, attacking enemy base camp, etc and the players communicate each other utilize short-range radio. Sometimes they also utilize vehicles such as van or truck.
  • Re-enactment
In this air soft game style, team plays historical battle. All of the gears, weapons and even the scenarios are attempted to match with the original battle. Of course, because it based on true story battle, the result of game also has been known.

But, air soft games are not just limited to above style. There are many games modifications.
